Calumet Medical Center, a 29-bed hospital, serves the rural community of Chilton, Wisconsin, and surrounding towns. The hospital's medical staff is a small group of dedicated primary care physicians and a surgeon who work with a consultant medical staff of various specialties. Services include 24 hour emergency care, paramedic-level ambulance service (based at the hospital), inpatient and outpatient surgery, medical and surgical inpatient care, Medicare skilled care benefit (Swingbed Program), home care and hospice (provided by Affinity Visiting Nurses), comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative outpatient services, a child day care center, and a variety of community outreach programs.

In 2001, Calumet Medical Center was designated a critical access hospital by the Center of Medicare Services and the Wisconsin Bureau of Quality Assurance.

History

Established more than 40 years ago, Calumet Medical Center joined Affinity Health System in October 1998. Affinity Health System has been co-sponsored by Ministry Health Care and Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc., since 1995.
