 You never plan for an illness or injury, but when those things happen, you can have confidence that you will receive the finest in critical care at the Howard Young Medical Center Emergency Department. A technically advanced emergency department offers residents and visitors board certified emergency service physicians 24 hours a day. Our nursing staff is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum for advanced trauma and cardiac care.
Remodeled in 1999, the facility offers multiple trauma rooms, cardiac care rooms, suture rooms and other specialized areas to provide advanced critical care for emergency patients. Paramedic level EMTs are trained in defibrillation and intravenous initiation. A Northwoods Transfer Service speeds patients needing transfer between our Ministry northern region hospitals. In addition, a helipad is available for emergency air transportation to higher levels of cafe when necessary.
