Not sure what a Physician Assistant (PA) is? A PA is a highly skilled health care professional who practice medicine with physician supervision. They can perform physical exams and histories. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and studies. Diagnose and treat common medical problems. Prescribe medications and therapies. Provide patient education and counseling. Physician Assistants practice in most health care settings, and in every medical and surgical specialty. Upon graduation from an accredited PA program, candidates for the profession must sit for the certifying examination developed by the National Board of Medical Examiners. Wisconsin requires the candidate to pass this examination prior to licensure as a PA.

Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He began is role as a PA after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force. Prior to joining Ministry Medical Group, Williams practiced as a PA with Northland Orthopedics in Rhinelander. In addition to Orthopedics, Williams has experience working in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine and nursing homes.

“I believe in regular encouragement of lifestyle modification to include stress reduction, diet changes, exercise, closing distractive habits and balancing work and family,” said Williams. “I value listening carefully for all of the patients needs.”

In his spare time, Williams enjoys canoeing and woodworking.
