Funding Guidelines

Ministry Health Care’s values of Service, Vision, Presence and Justice are at the core of what Saint Michael’s Foundation represents.  Through Service we will help ensure accessibility to health care services for all. It is our vision to be the primary source of funding for community related health care initiatives, while being a responsible steward of resources.  Justice calls us to reach out to all community members, especially the poor and underserved.  Saint Michael’s Hospital has been committed to caring for the community for over 95 years.  Our Foundation will remain here into the future with a Presence marked with compassion as the health care needs evolve in our community.

The following are some of the key areas that will be considered for funding:

  • Affordable and accessible health and dental care for all
  • Educational programs and support services that are health care related.
  • Educational and support services that promote healthy living
  • Initiatives that promote clear health communication
  • Initiatives that create a positive experience for our patients
  • Scholarships for health careers

Saint Michael’s Foundation is also interested in funding proposals for programs that prevent childhood obesity, teach healthy lifestyles, and programs that promote health literacy.

Each funding request will be reviewed by the Saint Michael’s Foundation Board of Directors at their regularly scheduled meetings, which are held the first Wednesday in February, April, June, August, October and December.  All funding requests must be received by the Foundation office 2 weeks prior to the Board of Directors meeting.
