Sister M. Theresa Regler Relocates to Oshkosh

(Tomahawk, WI) An icon of the Tomahawk community, Sister M. Theresa Regler, will be relocating to the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother Franciscan Courts Retirement Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Sister Theresa has been a staff member at Sacred Heart Hospital from 1961 to her retirement in November 2007.During her 46+ years at the hospital, she worked in every department including the delivery room where she helped bring many new Tomahawk residents into the world.Most of her time at Sacred Heart Hospital was spent in the surgical department.Since her retirement, Sister Theresa has served as a volunteer, welcoming patients and visitors to the hospital and Ministry Medical Group clinic.

Sister Theresa has been committed to helping the poor, the needy and victims of personal disaster in Tomahawk through her aluminum can collection project, the "Canvent".Through the years Sister has been involved in CROP Walk, was a major blood donor contributing nearly 13 gallons of blood, and ensured Christmas food and gift baskets were given to the needy of our community.She served on the Board of Directors for Saint Joseph's Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Saint Michael's Hospital and Sacred Heart-Saint Mary's Hospitals and has served as a member of the Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and Volunteer Program.

Sister's pet project, the "Canvent", will carry on through Sister Maria Vinton and Sister Judith Marie Beck, as long as the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother reside in Tomahawk.Aluminum can donations can be dropped off at the "Canvent" located at 107 East Lincoln Street.Requests for "Canvent" emergency assistance should be made by calling Susan at 715-453-7770.

An open house in Sister Theresa's honor will be held on Thursday, September 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Hospital located at 401 West Mohawk Drive in Tomahawk.The community is invited to attend and wish her well with this new chapter of her life.
