Foundation Kicks Off Fund Drive

The Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation has launched its 2009 annual fund raising campaign in support of community health initiatives.  “The Foundation’s mission is to enhance healthcare services for the people of Tomahawk,” stated Gregg Albert, Foundation Chairman.  “Through the outstanding generosity of our community, we have been able to fund many projects that have contributed significantly to Tomahawk’s health and wellness.”

The Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization, established in 1984 with a rich history of community collaboration.  Through the years over $370,000 has been provided in support of health initiatives.  Foundation Board members include Gregg Albert, Debbie Gessler, Roger Schlegel, William Erickson, Fr. John Anderson, Dr. Ron Cortte, Caryol DeBels, Dr. Eric Dichsen, James Krueger, Fr. Edward Powell, Monica Hilt, David Schoenholz, Carol Swan, Kevin Urmann and Ron Volz.

Projects for 2009 will include funding for the Foundation’s Health Access Program for the uninsured and underinsured, free community health screenings, five $1,000 health scholarships, support for the summer youth recreation program, sponsorship of the elementary student bike helmet program, health and safety education programs and additional programs and projects as needs arise throughout the year.

Giving can be in honor of a special person or special occasion, in sympathy as a lasting tribute, or in support of specific Foundation programs or goals.
