Family Birth Center to Host Infant CPR Anytime Session To Benefit The Women's Community

The Family Birth Center at Ministry Health Care’s Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston will host an infant CPR Anytime Training Session on Tuesday, August 18.

The program is open to anyone interested in the community and will also support The Women’s Community in Wausau as participants are being asked to donate a personal care product for the facility that provides safety and support for victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children.

“We think this is a perfect opportunity to provide potentially life saving information to families in the community and support a vital lifeline for those in need,” said Shelley Gering, perinatal educator at Saint Clare’s Hospital.

The program is free with a donation of items like liquid laundry soap, baby wipes, toilet paper, soap, shampoo or non-perishable food items.

The program will be held at 7 p.m. in the Saint Clare’s Hospital Conference Center. Best access for participants is from Parking Lot and Entrance #3 on the Weston Regional Medical Center Campus.

Each CPR Anytime Kit contains a training DVD and a manikin, which inflates to practice ventilation and compression techniques that are part of performing CPR. In addition, information will also be provided on how to deal with choking.

Funding for the CPR Anytime program is possible as the result of a grant from the American Heart Association to the Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Health Care Heart Care Team.

The newest member of the Ministry Health Care system sponsored by the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, Saint Clare’s Hospital is a 110-bed all-digital provider of quality, compassionate care in central Wisconsin offering a wide range of primary and specialty care.
