At the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, board certified emergency service physicians provide around the clock emergency care to Northwoods residents and visitors in a technically advanced setting. Our nursing staff is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum for advanced trauma and cardiac care.

The facility offers multiple specialized areas for trauma, cardiac and sutures to provide advanced critical care for emergency patients. Paramedic level EMTs are trained in defibrillation and intravenous initiation. A Northwoods Transfer Service speeds patients needing transfer between our Ministry northern region hospitals. In addition, a helipad is available for emergency air transportation to higher levels of care when necessary.
