The Door County Memorial Hospital Foundation was created over 15 years ago with the mission to develop and manage giving opportunities that support the health care needs of our community.
Since that time, thousands of donations have been made to help create new services, update technology and renovate aging facilities at Door County Memorial Hospital. The generosity of these donors has lead to the renovation of the Emergency Department and Radiology Department in 1989. In 1993, numerous fund-raising activities made the expansion of the Intensive Care Unit possible. With the strong support of the Auxiliary, the Chapel and Chapel Courtyard became a reality in 1997.
The rewards of these gifts can also be seen in the annual scholarships given to students pursuing health care careers. The Arthur and Laura Bertschinger, Barbara Vana and Auxiliary Scholarship programs distribute over $20,000 annually to students in need.
Contributions are needed to continue funding the many important programs and services that might not otherwise be available. Those who wish to make a positive impact on the health of the community may contribute through the following methods:
